China News Service, Paris, November 3, UNESCO announced on the 2nd local time that Uganda’s comprehensive creative workshop MoTIV won the first UNESCO-Bangladesh "Friends of Bangladesh" Sheikh Mujib Rahman International Creative Economy Award.

Kozjansko Park Public Institute of Podsreda, Slovenia, won the 2021 UNESCO Melina Merkuri International Cultural Landscape Conservation and Management Award in Greece.

According to reports, MoTIV stood out from 69 nominations for the Creative Economy Award and will receive a bonus of US$50,000 in recognition of its innovative work in promoting youth entrepreneurship in the creative economy.

MoTIV in Kampala, Uganda is a comprehensive creative workshop that promotes collaboration in an effective and sustainable way by providing tools and training.

The studio is involved in products and fashion design and other fields to help entrepreneurs improve and expand their businesses.

MoTIV's School of Design also provides learning opportunities for young innovators, designers and business owners, matching students with MoTIV instructors with professional experience, and providing them with guidance, technology and practice in the corresponding professional fields.

The workshop also vigorously promotes gender equality in its creative community, and it is hoped that the participation rate of women in the project can reach 70%.

The Kozjanski Park Public Institute won the 47 nominations for the Cultural Landscape Award and will receive a prize of $30,000 to further its work.

The Institute manages 314 protected cultural sites and monuments in the Podsreda region of Slovenia.

The wooded Alpine foothills blend here with the hills and vineyards, and then naturally transition to the fertile plains along the River Sotla, forming the most prominent feature of the local diverse landscape.

The most eye-catching features of this cultural landscape are grass orchards and fruit gardens, which are excluded by agribusiness in many countries in the world.

The high-quality agricultural network protects the unique biodiversity here.

The local community is also the guardian of this unique cultural landscape, and related cultural events and festivals make the conservation of the area a sustainable activity.

UNESCO will hold an official award ceremony for the two awards at its headquarters in Paris to showcase the contributions of the winners.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina and UNESCO Director-General Azoulay will present awards to MoTIV representatives on the 11th.

Greek Ministers of Culture and Sports Mendoni and Azoulay will present awards to representatives of the Kozjanski Park Public Research Institute on the 22nd.
