A 36-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in La Ciotat last week has been remanded in custody, reports

Approached by an individual in a parking lot in the town located east of Marseille, the young girl says she was seized by the latter who then slipped her hands on her buttocks, above her panties, specifies the regional daily.
The young teenager then managed to repel the attacker before going to the municipal police station.
The police arrested the man behind the wheel of his car shortly after.
Its identification was facilitated by urban video surveillance.
Placed in custody, drunk at the time of his arrest and a repeat driving offense under the influence of alcohol, he was imprisoned at Baumettes at the end of his immediate appearance, pending trial.
