China News Service, November 3 According to Korea Radio International, as the South Korean government decides to gradually resume daily life and relax various epidemic prevention measures, the new crown epidemic in South Korea is also showing the momentum of spreading again.

According to reports, as of 0:00 on the 2nd local time, South Korea has newly confirmed 1,589 new cases of new crown, which is an increase of more than 300 cases compared with a week ago.

The report pointed out that last week, South Korea had an average of 1,716 new confirmed cases of new crown every day, an increase of 28% from the previous week.

The basic reproductive number (the number of people infected by a patient during the average illness period) of less than 1 in three weeks has now risen to 1.03, which means that the epidemic may continue to spread.

The South Korean government predicts that as the country "recovers daily life" in stages, the daily average number of new confirmed cases of new crown will be two to three times higher than the current number.

However, the current domestic medical system in South Korea can withstand 5,000 new cases and up to 500 critically ill patients in a single day.

On November 1, local time, South Korea began to implement a phased restoration of daily life in the first phase of the relaxation of epidemic prevention measures.

The South Korean government plans that if the rate of hospital beds exceeds 75%, it will suspend the phased recovery of daily life and initiate an emergency plan.
