RCEP = Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, in which Japan, China, ASEAN, etc. participate, will come into effect in January next year.

While Japan has great merits such as becoming the first economic partnership agreement with China, it seems that strategies for maintaining economic rules and international order within the framework are also required.

Regarding the RCEP agreed by 15 countries including Japan, China, South Korea, and the member countries of the ASEAN = Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take effect in 10 countries including China and Australia on January 1st next year on the night of the 3rd. Announced that it was decided.

The overall tariff elimination rate is 91%, which is expected to be Japan's first economic partnership agreement with China, Japan's largest trading partner, and will lead to the recovery of the depressed economy due to the new corona.

However, since the United States has not participated in the RCEP and India, which was initially involved in the negotiations, has forgotten to sign the agreement, there is a view that China's presence may increase in the future.

If RCEP takes effect in all 15 countries, it will become a huge trading zone that accounts for about 30% of the world's population and GDP, but Japan will maintain economic rules and international order while gaining the benefits of free trade. It seems that a strategy for this is also required.
