November 03, 2021The man has long protected a friend with whom he was also having an affair. The woman was worried about the behavior of an acquaintance. The investigators of the Mobile Squad of the Turin police headquarters would be following this lead for the murder in Turin of Massimo Melis, an operator of the Green Cross found dead in his car killed with a gunshot. 

The investigators would have focused on a 62-year-old man, known to the police, who would not be available in the last few hours.

Last Sunday, according to what was reconstructed, Massimo Melis had done the shopping with his friend in a supermarket, then he had accompanied her home. The murder would occur between 10 pm and 11 pm. The man was sitting in his car and had not yet fastened his seat belt. The key was in the dashboard. The bullet, which exploded at close range, hit him in the left temple and then hit the opposite door. The killer, then, would calmly close the door and walk away without taking anything away. The agents found wallets and money. In another detail, there are no traces of a fight or a defense attempt. In short, a job done calmly. A full-blown execution.

Melis's body was found after 14 hours, not far from the area where her friend lives. To call the police, the mother, worried because her son did not answer his cell phone,

called her friend, who went down to the street with her sister and noticed the blue Fiat Punto, the body immobile in the passenger compartment. Thinking of an illness, they would have alerted 118. The doctors, however, understood that it was a crime, a certainty also confirmed by the agents of the Flying Squad.

So many pieces of the puzzle to put together. One is the exact moment of the murder. After accompanying his friend at 9 pm, the man would have spent at least an hour, perhaps more, before coming face to face with the attacker. The autopsy will lead without other of the useful elements.

Another piece to frame the person who would have had special attention towards Melis's friend. A

background that has never been brought to the attention of the police: there is no complaint. Investigators listened to the woman again to get some more information. And now they also have a name on which to focus the investigations.

The colleagues of the Green Cross define Massimo Melis as "a decent man", "he was a reserved person" and who had no enemies. Other hypotheses, however, are not neglected. Melis had no problems with colleagues seems to be an established fact. But working on the green cross had brought him into contact with situations of social and mental distress.
