Peskov answered a question about the need to investigate reports of the sale of fake vaccination certificates with various vaccines, including Western ones.

He noted that any forgery of documents, including certificates, should be punished in accordance with the law.

“As for the forgeries of these important documents, it is obvious that we have them, and in various EU countries - and everywhere an irreconcilable struggle is being waged against this,” he said.

Peskov added that in Russia they take this issue very responsibly and consider falsification of certificates unacceptable.

“And of course, our law enforcement agencies are struggling with this,” a Kremlin spokesman said.

Peskov also spoke about negotiations with the EU on the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates.

Earlier, the European Union said that they expect Russia to investigate cases of trade in COVID certificates, including European documents.
