The high shooting has taken place in agreement between landowners, forest companies and hunters.

But now the lack of moose is starting to become clear, at the same time as the connection between high shooting and reduced grazing damage is not so simple.

- We have shot a lot of moose in a conscious investment because the landowners had views on how much is grazed on the pine forest, says Björn Sundgren.

This should not make the elk population smaller

Among other things, a study at the University of Agricultural Sciences SLU shows that more presence of pine resulted in fewer game damage.

The game damage was particularly great in areas where there was little pine and many other deer in addition to the moose.

In the video, Björn Sundgren tells what can be done to not further reduce the elk population.
