It is a scenic proposal that encompasses interpretation and dance, from the baroque to the present. It goes beyond music and dance, we think that classical performers are very focused on their music, but you like flamenco, techno ... Yes, I am a passionate and staunch defender of flamenco. I started with the guitar and, since I discovered Paco de Lucía, when I was six or eight years old, he became my reference artist of all genres. Flamenco connects me with my essence. But I also like techno, jazz ... I am fascinated by music in general. It has collaborations with flamenco artists such as Rocío Márquez, Rosario La Tremendita and Miguel Ángel Cortes. Yes, and also with jazz. A musician of the 21st century, and more so in classical music, who is often pigeonholed as boring or very traditional,You have to go further and explore all the options. How did you get started with the viola? By chance. When I started at the conservatory, there were no places for guitar, which is what I did. So, I did a round for different instruments. The viola shocked me. It is not an easy instrument. Well, no instrument is easy. The viola is larger than the violin, and physically you need to find the most natural way to play it. Also, it is not proportional. He has that handicap, which at the same time is his magic. To learn and succeed in his art you have to go outside of Spain. Out of necessity and curiosity, you have to explore the world and get out of your comfort zone. At the age of 19, I started my international career and, since then, I have not stopped. I am a travel lover, the different cultures and the risks because I have been to unusual places to play classical music, like Lebanon, Iran or Turkey. Those cultures, so far removed from our lifestyle, fascinate me. An artist needs to feed on everything around him to create, know himself and be able to transmit. In 2013, she became the first international viola player to give recitals in Iran. It was an adventure because I was on the verge of not playing. I arrived and the concerts were canceled because I did not have a special permit. There was a media commotion, we went to the press and finally the concerts were rescheduled and all the tickets were sold. The people were super hospitable and generous. It was an experience to touch with the veil. He couldn't show his hair or his neck. How is the teaching of Music in the educational system? Does it attract the kids or drive them away? Unfortunately, it does not attract them very much. Teaching at school is not aimed at children of the 21st century, but is focused on books and some very boring things. All children deserve and have the right to appreciate classical music. It is the one with the most history. It was just music until the 20th century, when it was called classical because other genres emerged. Should it be in the educational system? It is essential that it be in public education. I hope that new ways of approaching and appreciating classical music will be discovered. It's like appreciating something so sophisticated, in other areas, like Japanese food. The first time you try it, you don't like it. Classical music is also like good wine. You should go slowly. If you are introduced to her at age 20 suddenly without having had contact with her, you will not like it. She combines her concerts all over the world with her role as a teacher. Perhaps the teaching is more monotonous. Teaching has been linked to me forever. I have been a student and, as you progress, the goal is for you to find your own method and be your own teacher yourself. I studied Pedagogy and a master's degree. I teach viola in London and one week a term in Valencia. Classical music is for older people, true or false? Very false. This music has an intellectual and emotional depth that requires a predisposition. The dizzying pace of our lives and the superficiality of society are perhaps problems that make classical music less attractive to young people. She combines her concerts around the world with her role as a teacher.
