- A few weeks ago we saw that we had many children with RS virus for the season and it has increased further.

Now we are above the number of cases we usually have when we are at the highest during the season, says Anna Bärtås, operations manager for children and the youth clinic Region Kronoberg.

Strained but under control

The situation is strained and especially when employees are ill and fewer can care for the children who apply to the hospital.

Children with less serious illnesses have to wait a little longer right now, says Anna Bärtås.

- Planned operations have to wait, especially operations where you need to stay in the hospital because we have difficulty finding a place in the ward right now, she says.

Inappropriate to meet infected children

Region Kronoberg has not issued recommendations to keep small siblings of infants with RS virus to stay home from preschool.

Anna Bärtås still wants to call for great caution.

- It is directly inappropriate to meet in large crowds or in large groups with small children.

Everyone should refrain from meeting the infected children, says Anna Bärtås, operations manager for children and the youth clinic Region Kronoberg.
