November 02, 2021The sentence to life imprisonment for the Serbian Norbert Feher, known in the news as Igor the Russian, has been definitively confirmed. This was decided by the first criminal section of the Supreme Court, rejecting the appeal of the accused, currently detained in Spain.

Feher had been sentenced, with an abbreviated rite, on May 27, 2020 by the Bologna Court of Assizes of Appeal - in partial reform of the first instance sentence of 2019 - to life imprisonment for the murders of Davide Fabbri and Valerio Verri and for the attempted murder of Marco Ravaglia, committed in April 2017 in Riccardina di Budrio (in the province of Bologna) and in Mezzano di Portomaggiore (in the province of Ferrara), as well as for various other crimes, such as aggravated, consummated and attempted robberies, thefts, receiving stolen goods, arms violations.

The accused was also sentenced to reimburse the legal costs incurred by the civil parties, such as the relatives of the victims, the Province of Ferrara and the environmental surveillance service Legambiente-Provincial Nucleo of Ferrara.

Feher is in prison in Spain because he is subjected to criminal proceedings for other crimes committed in that state.
