15 December 2017The criminal 'career' of 'Igor the Russian' ended in Spain after months of searches crossed by a long trail of blood.

The massive manhunt that lasted months in the marshes of Budrio, Consandolo, Argenta and Molinella was worth nothing.

Kicking off the research of Igor Vaclavic in Italy and abroad, the murders of the Budrio bartender Davide Fabbri (on 1 April last) and the voluntary ecological guard Valerio Verri (on 8 April) in the countryside around Portomaggiore.

But the man is also strongly suspected of the killing of the night watchman Salvatore Chianese, the security guard killed on 30 December 2015 in Fosso Ghiaia, near Ravenna.

A man with a double identity Igor, nicknamed the Russian but actually Serbian, whose real name is Norbert Feher, born in Subotica and never enlisted in the Red Army as he boasted. The investigations had focused on the network of contacts that the killer could have had in the area and that could have helped him to hide, until he escaped abroad. And in fact, the Carabinieri followed his lead in various European nations until they concentrated on Spain.

Some private investigation agencies had also mobilized for his capture, after getting in touch with the lawyer of the relatives of Davide Fabbri, the 52-year-old killed during a robbery attempt last April 1st in his premises in Budrio (Bologna). . The news was spread by the lawyer Giorgio Bacchelli who represents the Fabbri family (his wife Maria Sirica and his father Davide) as well as the Committee of Friends.

On Igor's 'head' was also placed a bounty of 50,000 euros (always by friends and relatives) while alive and 25,000 euros dead: this is a sort of reward for those who first provide "precise information", it was was explained, aimed at "concretely tracking down and thus bringing to justice" the dangerous fugitive.

This sum was accompanied by a further fundraising (through a dedicated current account) to increase the bounty with donations from citizens.

"The cut is still active today - confirms the lawyer reached by the AGI on the phone - it expired last October 20 but has been extended by three months, until January 20".
