Zelensky spoke about the high rates of nature restoration in Chernobyl

He said this at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Zelensky noted that the tragedy at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant shows that "almost the most effective for the restoration of the environment is human non-intervention."

“Nature in Chernobyl is recovering much faster than expected, as if suggesting that the best you people can help is not to interfere,” TASS quoted him as saying.

In November 2020, the head of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tkachenko, proposed to add a number of objects of the Chernobyl exclusion zone to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
