Democratic Party officially launched the Presidential Election Countermeasures Committee today (2nd). Previously, the Democratic Party announced the first appointment of the election committee, and decided to establish a group system with 12 people serving as the joint election chairperson.

At 2 pm today, the Democratic Party will hold an election committee inauguration ceremony at Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul and officially depart for the presidential election in March next year.



It has been about three weeks since the election of presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung on the 10th of last month.



499 people, including Candidate Lee, party leaders, and key members of the previous line, will attend today's inauguration ceremony due to the easing of social distancing due to COVID-19.



The Democratic Party announced the first appointment of the election committee yesterday, the day before the event, and the permanent election committee chairperson, as customary, is headed by Song Young-gil.



The co-election chairperson consisted of a group system of 12, with lawmakers Park Yong-jin, Kim Doo-kwan, and Lee Kwang-jae, who were candidates for the primary election, Kim Sang-hee, vice-chairman of the National Assembly, and Kim Jin-pyo and Lee Sang-min, members of the National Assembly.



In order to form a so-called 'one team', the election chairpersons of each primary camp also participate.



Byun Jae-il and Woo Won-sik from the Lee Jae-myung camp, Seol-hoon and Hong Young-pyo from the Lee Nak-yeon camp, and Kim Young-joo from the Jeong Se-kyun camp will join.



In order to live up to the 'one team' purpose, the chief of staff will also be appointed by Lee Jae-myung, the head of the secretary's office, Park Hong-geun, and Lee Nak-yeon, the head of the camp's general situation headquarters, Choi In-ho.
