Parents of students in the eastern region called on government and private school administrations to ease and simplify the precautionary measures related to the Corona virus, especially the procedures for measuring temperatures before entering school.

Parents suggested activating simpler methods and speeding up the temperature measurement procedure by distributing this task among a number of supervisors instead of one, pointing out that students who are delivered by private vehicles have to wait for the supervisor to come in order to allow them to enter the school.

For their part, the administrations of private and government schools confirmed that they are committed to the precautionary measures imposed on them, pointing out that they will look to reduce these measures due to the many observations received from parents.

An administrator in a government school in the Dibba Al-Fujairah area, who preferred not to be named, said that the precautionary measures imposed on the educational and administrative staff and students are clear and explicit, and the community has become accustomed to them, given that they are applied in all institutions, commercial centers and others.

She indicated that the student's temperature is checked by the bus supervisor before boarding it, but the students who are transported by private vehicles are examined by the supervisor who is waiting for them at the school gate, in order to measure their temperatures and allow them to enter the school campus if their temperatures do not exceed certain degrees.

A supervisor in a private school in the Emirate of Fujairah, Noor Abdullah, confirmed that students who are transported in private vehicles are required to have their temperatures measured by a supervisor at the school gate, but this procedure is necessary and cannot be tolerated or exceeded, adding that a student whose temperature exceeds normal rates. His guardian is informed to pick him up from school and complete the school day remotely.

Amr Muhammad supported her in the opinion of an administrator in a private school in the city of Kalba in the Emirate of Sharjah, saying: “Parents should understand that these measures are in the interest of their children, and contribute to limiting the spread of the virus, as the student is an important part of the society that fights the spread of the virus, and leniency in Precautionary measures may cause it not to be contained,” noting that students represent the largest part of the educational system compared to the educational and administrative staff, so it is important to take care of them and contribute to reducing and limiting injuries.

On the other hand, the guardian of a primary school student in a school in Fujairah, Abdullah Al Yamahi, said that the area in which he lives is remote and far from the emirate, and the lack of transportation to it makes him have to deliver his children daily to school, noting that he noticed the accumulation of students waiting for the supervisor to measure temperatures. Because the number of students in private vehicles is large, which makes them queues waiting for their turn to take their temperature.

He pointed out that increasing the number of female supervisors at the gates may solve the problem that occurs every morning for students, in addition to simplifying precautionary measures and measuring temperatures in classes instead of waiting at the gate.

The guardian of a preparatory school student in a private school in the Emirate of Fujairah, Aisha Saqr, said that government departments and commercial centers have simplified and facilitated the precautionary measures, and some schools still complicate and increase them, such as forcing the student not to enter the school except by measuring his temperature and keeping the guardian in his vehicle waiting for the result of his son’s examination Even if the temperature is not allowed, the student immediately returns home, and completes the school day through the distance education system.

The guardian of a primary school student at a government school in the Emirate of Fujairah, who preferred not to publish her name, noted that she had dropped her daughter to school and immediately went to work, but she noticed on the way that her daughter had forgotten the lunch bag, and when she returned, she was surprised that the students were still lined up waiting to be measured. Their temperature was given by the supervisor who had not yet attended.

She pointed out that if the issue of temperature measurement is difficult to implement in an orderly and fast manner, they should install remote sensors that eliminate the need for queues.
