2.35 million visits in a month

Expo 2020 Dubai succeeded in attracting 2.35 million visits, during the first month of the launch of the international exhibition, which witnessed prominent events, entertainment parties and seminars that attracted guests from the UAE, the region and around the world.

The organizers of the "Expo" praised the resounding success of the activities of the international event from the first to the 31st of last October, announcing the large number of visitors, which amounted to nearly 2.35 million visits.

The proportion of visitors under the age of 18 has reached 28% of the total number so far, and this percentage is expected to increase as the Expo program for schools expands in the coming months in the temperate climate.

With a general review of global visits, the percentage of visits from outside the UAE reached 17% of the total number of visits, which is a remarkable percentage, especially since the international event is being held at a time when several countries are still under travel restrictions imposed by the pandemic.

Expo counted the passage of visitors from 185 nationalities through its gates, while the five most visited countries from outside the country were: India, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.

Most visitors intend to visit Dubai Expo several times;

More than half of the visitors (53%) carried seasonal tickets, while more than a quarter of visitors (27%) carried multiple-entry tickets, and 20% of visitors entered with single-day tickets.

In line with the sustainability goals of "Expo 2020 Dubai", a huge number of visitors traveled to and around the site using the means of transportation of the Roads and Transport Authority. The number of trips to and from the Expo site reached 1.1 million trips using the Dubai Metro, out of a total of approximately 3.6 million trips.

The first 31 days since the opening of the Expo witnessed the holding of the first two weeks of themes within the Expo's Man and Planet Earth programme, which is designed to inspire collective and meaningful action aimed at addressing the world's most important global challenges and opportunities. Expo gathered a group of experts from around the world during Climate and Biodiversity Week, which began before the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP-26), and before the launch of Space Week, which contributed to offering ways to benefit from space exploration to improve life on the planet. The remaining eight thematic weeks will run from now until the end of March, while the Urban and Rural Development Week will run from today until November 6.

A total of 1,938 government leaders, including heads of state, prime ministers and ministers who visited the international event, inaugurated their country's pavilions and gave speeches at official events, and each of them celebrated their country's National Day at "Expo 2020 Dubai", paid tribute to a total of 1,938 government leaders.

And many of the 192 country pavilions, for the first time in the history of the World Expo, assigning each participating country an independent pavilion, proved their special popularity, as the pavilion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one of the largest pavilions at the Expo 2020 Dubai site, attracted Half a million visitors so far.

In its first month, "Expo 2020 Dubai" witnessed the celebration of a number of national and honorary days, which included prominent events, including the wonderful air show performed by the French Air Force's display unit "Patroy de France", and Switzerland's unveiling of a huge inspiring artwork by the artist Sayeb. The International Ensemble “Emirati Youth Symphony Orchestra” presented a message of peace and understanding on the United Nations Honorary Day.

Ticket holders eagerly used the "Expo passports" they purchased, as 695,437 copies were sold in the first month, with visitors competing to obtain the most number of country seals in one day.

Only in the first month after its launch, the "Dubai Expo" witnessed the organization of 5,610 impressive official events.

Crowds flocked to witness the creation of an impressive group of regional and international music artists, including Amr Diab, Kazem El Saher and Sami Youssef.

A number of top sports stars have also made their appearances from the famous basketball exhibition team “Harlem Globetrotters” to the prominent cricket team “Rajasthan Royals”.

Some countries sent musicians and performers, while group discussions included everyone from business leaders to astronauts.

As the UAE enters the mild winter months, the number of visitors is expected to increase steadily, as they are also attracted by the ongoing Expo program.
