Parents of students reported that government schools are experiencing a crisis, as a result of a shortage of school buses, which prompts them to implement a combination of the “real” and “virtual” education systems, so that students receive their education in each system for a period of one or two weeks, noting that this system confuses Students and families.

The Emirates Foundation for School Education stated that it is doing its best to provide a distinguished school transportation service, in cooperation with its service providers partners.

In detail, the parents of students in different classes, Saif Abdullah, Khaled Al Hammadi, and Fatima Ibrahim, said that they chose attendance education for their children, because they saw their educational levels significantly decline during their studies in the distance education system, due to the “Corona” pandemic, which imposed the adoption of this system. Education, to protect students, educational workers and families from infection with the “Corona” virus.

They added that they took over the task of delivering their children to their schools during the first week of the current school year, which resulted in them being late for their work hours, and therefore it was necessary for them to register for the school transport service, pointing out that the schools organize a week to transport their children, and apologize for another week or two. This causes them to be in a state of confusion, as they have to continue to deliver their children to school.

They stated that schools suffer from a shortage in the number of school buses, forcing them to divide the students into groups, so that each group transports its buses for a period of one or two weeks, consecutively and periodically, calling on the Emirates School for School Education to increase the number of buses, so that it can transport all students wishing to study. Realistically, there are two daily trips from home to school, and vice versa.

And they indicated that they receive text messages every two or three weeks from schools, apologizing to them for not transporting their children on school buses for a week or more. Distance education is for all students, and we will inform you of any developments that arise.” In another message, “Next week will be working for female students remotely, due to the lack of transportation and buses, due to high school exams.”

In response to a question for "Emirates Today", about the education systems adopted in schools during the current academic year, the Emirates Foundation for School Education reported that it had adopted three modes of education at the beginning of the current academic year, through which schools would receive students in the various emirates of the country in the new academic year. Its content took into account the safety of learners, ensuring the achievement of teaching and learning objectives, and working on designing a school day that meets the academic and educational aspects.

Gradual return of students

The Emirates Foundation for School Education reported that it had adopted a plan for the gradual return of students to schools in three stages, ending in November 2021, using different education systems, combining realistic education, distance learning and hybrid, to end this stage with the return of 100% in-person education in all schools, And the completion of the number of students until the end of this November, which will coincide with the provision of school transport service by buses for all students registered in the service.
