Stefan Löfven will go down in history as the Social Democrat who has been elected Prime Minister no less than three times, and who has been voted down as many times.

His time in power has been turbulent, with by-elections and various agreements falling apart.

Despite all the setbacks, Stefan Löfven has managed to remain in power, states Anna Kinberg Batra, former party leader for the Moderates.

- You have to give it to Stefan Löfven.

He has been sitting for seven years, despite all these setbacks, she says in SVT's Agenda, and continues:

- I met him this week, then I got a hug.

It's a bit typical Stefan Löfven as a person.

But behind it hides a rather polished power player, of course.

"Not going to put me in the stands"

However, Löfven himself does not agree that he is a player of power.

- It sounds like I want power only for the sake of power itself.

In a difficult parliamentary situation, I am of course prepared to look at what opportunities there are.

I'm not just going to sit in the stands and say: This is getting too difficult, now someone else has to take care of this.

After the 2018 election, the parliamentary situation was difficult.

The price for getting the Center Party and the Liberals to change sides was tax cuts for the richest and most relaxed labor law in the January agreement.

"Keeps words"

Christer Nylander, Member of Parliament for the Liberals, was group leader for L during the period when the January agreement was negotiated.

- He keeps his word.

It facilitates the negotiations that you know that what was discussed last is where we start from.

That we do not start all the time.

- For a Social Democrat to agree to that program, it indicates that you are very pragmatic and perhaps also unpretentious.

What does Stefan Löfven himself say about his time in power?

Proud but not happy?

- I'm proud, you can never be happy and say: now everything has been done, it will never happen.

But I'm still proud.
