About 30 local officials and over 300 participants from all over Sweden are participating in the karate-SM which takes place in Helsingborg this weekend.
Five competitors participate in the Swedish Championships in para-karate, which is held in Helsingborg for the first time.
Para-karate is a form of karate for people with physical or neuropsychiatric functional variations.
- The club that arranges this year's championship is one of Helsingborg's oldest karate clubs and we have many who want to help at all ages, says Katarina Dahl, a member of Helsingborg's karate club and one of those who organize this weekend's competition.
"Feels great!"
- I never thought I would win gold.
But it feels great!
says Oscar Karlsson from Lund, today's gold medalist in para-karate.
The silver medal went to Alexander Dahlqvist from Gothenburg.
Bronze went to Eva Henriksson and Alice Papiernik who both come from Lund.
