Elon Musk's fortune surpassed $300 billion for the first time among billionaires around the world as the stock price of American electric car maker Tesla soared.
According to the Billionaires Index compiled by Bloomberg News, Musk's net worth stood at $32 billion, or 353.6 trillion won, as of the 29th local time.
Tesla stock rose 3.43% from the previous day in the New York Stock Exchange to close at $1,114, and Musk's assets also increased by $9.79 billion and 11.46 trillion won per day.
The wealth gap with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (net worth $199 billion) has widened to $13 billion (120.6 trillion won).
"Musk is the first person on the planet to reach the $300 billion net worth milestone," said CBS, the US broadcaster.
