Expo 2020 Dubai celebrated the National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Egyptian pavilion at the exhibition was decorated on this occasion.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai, received the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, during the official ceremony held at Al Wasl Square.

Officials stressed that Egypt aims to benefit from the exhibition in promoting a new mental image of the remarkable development in Egypt in recent years, and presenting Egypt as a distinguished investment destination in the region, noting that the impressive organization of the exhibition, in light of a global pandemic that affected the whole world, represents a message of hope and optimism.

In his speech, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said, "The participation of (Mother of the World) in the Expo, since its launch a century and a half ago, specifically in 1851 in London, proves that it has the ingredients and a long and long history of participation in global events, Which makes us grateful for her participation in a wonderful pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.”

He added, "We are proud to host Expo 2020, which coincides with our celebration of the golden jubilee of our dear country, and we see it as an opportunity to welcome our partners from all over the world, given that the UAE hosts more than 200 nationalities who work and innovate together for the welfare and progress of all."

He expressed his admiration for the Egyptian pavilion, pointing out that it embodies the great civilization of Egypt, its history, its capabilities and its outlook for the future.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said, "The Egyptian pavilion provides space for giant initiatives and projects in all sectors, such as investment in the economic zone in the Suez Canal, future cities, tourism, energy and the future."

He added: “We are proud of being the first country in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia to win the organization of the Expo, and we look forward to building economic relations and strengthening the existing partnerships between our two countries, as Egypt occupies a prominent position as an important trading partner, and perhaps our investments exceed 7 billion dollars (25.7 billion dirhams). ) in Egypt is the best evidence of that.”

He stressed that the Emirati-Egyptian relations are not limited to the economic aspect, but extend to several aspects, pointing to the establishment of the Zayed Center for Culture and Technology in Egypt, as well as the digital school, which is scheduled to be the first Arab school for online education, and aims to reach one million students within the five years. Next, with the aim of increasing the quality of online education throughout the Arab world.

For his part, the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, said during his speech that "the UAE's hosting of the most important event in the world today, and its impressive organization of the exhibition, in light of a global pandemic that affected the whole world, represents a message of hope and optimism."

The Egyptian Prime Minister added that the Egyptian participation in (Expo 2020 Dubai) also aims to present Egypt as a distinguished investment destination in the region, due to its giant national projects in the field of infrastructure, and measures to attract foreign investments and establish smart cities and industrial zones in addition to the economic zone of the Canal Suez.

He stressed that the Egyptian pavilion offers the visitor a unique experience through its 14 pillars that give a glimpse into the history of Egypt and include the sarcophagus of an Egyptian priest.

In turn, the head of commercial representation, commissioner of the Egyptian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Dr. Ahmed Maghawry, said on the sidelines of the exhibition's celebration of the Egyptian National Day, that "Egypt's participation in (Expo Dubai) is the largest at the level of its participation in previous exhibitions," pointing to The most important qualitative gain from participation is building a new mental image of the remarkable development in Egypt in recent years.

He added that there are other important quantitative gains such as putting Egypt on the global investment map, pointing out that the head of the Suez Canal Authority, Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, held a meeting with 70 investors to present investment opportunities in the economic zone of the Canal.

Maghawry said that visitors to the Expo, since the beginning of their entry into the pavilion, were received by a (virtual girl named Nour) who presented visitors with the future of Egypt.
