China News Service, Haikou, October 30 (Reporter Zhang Qianyi) The 2021 Cross-Strait Leisure Agriculture Development (Hainan) Seminar opened in Haikou on the 30th.

Agricultural experts and industry representatives on both sides of the Taiwan Straits discussed and exchanged views on the theme of promoting rural revitalization through the development of leisure agriculture through the "online + offline" approach.

Li Yuefeng, member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and executive vice chairman of the Taiwan League’s Central Committee, delivered a video speech at the opening ceremony and stated that in March this year, 11 departments including the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of Several Measures for the Development of China's Agriculture and Forestry Fields" implement the "equal treatment" of Taiwan compatriots in a wider area and at a deeper level, and provide a broad space for Taiwan compatriots to participate in rural revitalization on the mainland.

This seminar closely combines the characteristics of Qiongtai and Taiwan and the policy requirements of Hainan Free Trade Port to explore the promotion of a higher level of integrated development of leisure agriculture on both sides of the strait.

Hainan is one of the areas where Taiwanese businessmen invest most in agriculture on the mainland.

Up to now, Hainan has introduced more than 700 varieties and technologies of more than 80 types from Taiwan.

Last year, Hainan issued the "Implementation Plan for Promoting Exchanges and Cooperation between Qiongtai and Taiwan and Helping the Construction of Free Trade Port" to develop new tourism formats in Qiongtai with tropical island characteristics focusing on homestays, coastal, rural tourism and cultural and creative industries.

Chen Zhiqing, the former head of Taiwan's agricultural authority, explained his thoughts on the current development of leisure agriculture in the video.

He said that the development of leisure agriculture requires both “agriculture, rural areas and farmers” to improve the professional level of farmers through professional training. In addition, it attracts second and third generation youths to return to their hometowns to work in agriculture, so that the vitality of the countryside can be reproduced.

Chen Zhiqing suggested that leisure agriculture practitioners should pay attention to market changes and timely innovation. For example, after the rise of artificial intelligence, many traditional manufacturing manpower has been replaced by robots, unmanned supermarkets and mobile payments are becoming more popular, and under the epidemic situation, more attention should be paid to the experience of tourists.

Professor Duan Zhaolin of the Department of Agricultural Enterprise Management of Pingtung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan took the campus farm of Taiwan University as an example. He mentioned that Taiwan universities use school farm resources to design agricultural and environmental education experience activities to provide citizens with experience opportunities and popularize organic and natural agricultural methods. , The process of production and marketing of agricultural products makes the concept of sustainable development deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

He believes that this method can be used for reference by Hainan.

At the seminar, participants discussed topics such as eco-tourism, cross-strait leisure agriculture cooperation, and rural revitalization.

During the event, experts and scholars from both sides of the strait also visited Shamei Impression in Boao Town, Qionghai, Qionghai World Tropical Fruit Window Base, Hainan Fresh Friends Food Processing Base, Haikou Jiangdong New Area Exhibition Center, Chengmai Jingdong Asia No. 1 Intelligent Logistics Park and other places for investigation and inspection .
