Starting from October 27th, people over 65 years of age in Peru can go to any vaccination center to receive the third booster vaccine.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Health, people of this age group must present their vaccination card or electronic vaccination certificate, and the authenticity of the electronic file is verified by a QR code.
The schedule for the booster dose of vaccination is determined by the official platform of the Ministry of Health Pongo el Hombro. The booster dose can only be given six months after the second dose of vaccination.
According to data from the Peruvian Ministry of Health, as of the 29th, Peru has applied 34.38 million doses of vaccine, and a total of 15.37 million people have been vaccinated with two doses, accounting for 55% of the target population.
In addition, Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Roberto Sanchez announced that from now on, passengers over 14 years of age entering Peru must present two doses of new crown vaccine vaccination certificates.
Minister Sanchez believes that this measure will greatly promote the recovery of the tourism industry and increase the number of inbound tourists to 750,000.
