The alcoholic evening turned into a nightmare on the night of Saturday to Sunday for a young student.
After spending part of the night in a nightclub in Toulouse, the 18-year-old girl was escorted back to where she was staying by a member of the group with whom she had partied and drunk well.
Taking advantage of his condition, his companion allegedly raped him on several occasions.
“The rape would have occurred while the victim was sleeping or dozing,” said Toulouse public prosecutor Samuel Vuelta-Simon in a statement.
Her alleged assailant, a 22-year-old student, was also heavily intoxicated.
Indicted for "rape by surprise"
Sunday, the young woman went to file a complaint.
The young man was arrested and taken into custody by the gendarmes, before being referred and indicted on Thursday for acts of "rape by surprise".
He was placed under judicial supervision by the judge of freedoms, while the investigation continues.
“This type of fact is unfortunately recurrent in the Toulouse area, in particular in the hypercentre, after excessive festive consumption of drinks and narcotics.
The victims are attacked, either by one of the people of the group that accompanies them, or by a stranger who takes advantage of their condition to commit the aggression, ”deplores the chief prosecutor.
