The Czech Republic's pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai commemorated the 100th anniversary of the world's knowledge of the word "robot" at the hands of the two brothers, Josef and Karel تشاapek.

Today, after a century has passed, and after robots have invaded the world and become an important component in running the life of the planet, the pavilion, which occupies a privileged position at the entrance to the Sustainability District, celebrated this anniversary by lighting the statue of "Victoria Robotrum".

The colossal statue, by artist Jaroslav Runa, stands at the entrance to the distinctive pavilion.

The statue was carved from a single giant granite rock, which was excavated specifically for this purpose in 2017.

The statue stands in its distinctive position as a huge sculpture that expresses the victory of technology over man, symbolized, in an ironic way, by the human skull of the last man defeated by a robot.

The beautiful artwork aims to serve as a message to the human race to warn it against self-destruction, and at the same time celebrates the monuments of civilizations that have already ended.

"Work on this sculpture took about four years," says Jaroslav Rona, the statue's maker.

It rises to about six meters and weighs more than 16 tons.

In addition to lighting the huge statue, the Czech pavilion also organized a display of “Pantomeum” art, titled “Robot Radius”, where the art show was presented at the Dubai Exhibition Center within the “Expo 2020 Dubai” site, and was attended by the Czech Ambassador to the UAE, Jerry Slavic.

The artistic performance embodied a story of a struggle between the last human on earth with robotic technology that swept the world, to send a message to warn the children of Adam from the phenomenon of climate change.
