While the avowed firearms lover Donald Trump junior, son of the elected president, offers a t-shirt on his Instagram page for $ 27.99 that reads: "Guns don't kill people, Alec Baldwin kills people" - a statement that is so false, cynical and amoral that one would like to wish its author a life-long jam for it; while the tabloid New York Post, a gunshot from the Murdoch Corporation, asks itself and its readers whether Alec Baldwin would have shot off just as easily if the barrel of the gun had been aimed not at the camera but at his own temple; So while all those who hated the Donald Trump parodist and leftist Democrat Baldwin for a long time because of his leftism and his Trump jokes, now finally a new one,have a fresh motive for this hatred; Meanwhile, even more level-headed Americans are now wondering whether the terrible story that happened a week ago in New Mexico has really been adequately described as a classic tragedy: the drama of a man who is innocently guilty and this guilt for the rest of his life will have to endure.

The more it becomes known about the circumstances and the history of this film production, the more clearly it becomes clear that “Rust”, the western starring Baldwin in the title role, was a disaster long before the fatal shot was fired. A disaster from a film production, “low budget”, which is nothing wrong with; but there were crew members who had been promised that they would be accommodated in nearby Santa Fe; and then they had to spend the night in Albuquerque, an hour there by car, an hour back, on twelve-hour shooting days. It is said that out of frustration and anger, some would have taken the antique revolvers out of the props during the breaks, loaded them with real cartridges and shot at cans and bottles with them, at least to have a little fun. After that, it is said,put the guns back to the props.

Stupid American money

Alec Baldwin is partly responsible for these conditions;

he co-produced the film, and obviously he got involved with the wrong people.

The industry newspaper Variety said Tuesday of the co-producers, rich children from Los Angeles, one woman, two men in their thirties, who obviously have more talent for posing as film producers, good-looking, decently dressed, with cool ones Sunglasses and the corresponding demeanor, characters as thought up by Bret Easton Ellis, as if they knew a lot about filmmaking.

Two of them, Ryan Smith and Alan Cheney, were on trial for stealing a quarter of a million from someone to make a film and using the money to pay off their credit card debt.

During the trial, writes Variety, two overtaxed greenhorns were experienced, who only got out safely thanks to the wealth of Cheney's father. The woman's name is Emily Salveson and she has persuaded rich people to invest their money in low-budget productions and write off the losses from taxes. It used to be popular in Germany; in Hollywood they spoke of “stupid German money”. Apparently none of them knew how to make money; how you spend it in a film production, certainly not. Shortly before the accident, camera crew members had left the location and non-union replacements had come; the gunsmith, 24 years old, had confessed before the shooting that she didn't know whether she was up to the task: and the assistant director who handed Baldwin the revolver,has a miserable reputation in the film industry. There are also reports of revolvers that had already fired.

The most popular demand is now: disarm!

The muzzle flash could also come from the computer;

and in general, America must have its obsession treated with firearms.

But it is the difference between the American and the comparatively sterile European cinema: that a revolver weighs something there, that there is counter pressure when the shot is fired and fire from the barrel.

People actually wanted to praise this physical cinema - if only a woman hadn't just died from it.
