Zakharova stated this in an interview with Georgy Tsikhiseli, the former editor-in-chief and vice president of the international satellite TV channel RTVI.
The video was published on the Telegram channel of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Zakharova noted that the United States deliberately does not issue visas and has extended the period for issuing passports.
She also stated that the United States specifically transferred diplomats from consular directions to others.
“They deliberately ruined the provision of consular services by the American side in Russia,” Zakharova said.
The representative of the Foreign Ministry advised to ask the United States why they did it.
Earlier, the Russian ambassador to the United States in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, said that the Russian diplomatic mission in the United States had received a list of 24 diplomats who must leave the country.
At the end of April, the American Embassy in Russia announced that in connection with the Moscow-imposed retaliatory measures, from May 12, it would provide consular services only to Americans and in respect of a limited number of urgent cases.
