Hanif Bali has previously said that he will participate in the Moderates' test election.
Now he writes on his Facebook page that he has decided not to run in the next parliamentary election.
"Today I announced to the nomination committee that I do not intend to be on the Moderates' parliamentary list for the 2022 election," Bali wrote at 10 pm on Wednesday evening.
Hanif Bali was reported to the police earlier this year on suspicion of having persuaded a then 15-year-old girl to send undressed pictures to him.
He was also investigated internally in the Moderates after accusations of sexually inappropriate behavior.
The police investigation, as well as the internal investigation, was closed down.
