In David Henningsson's adoption documents, it can be read that he and his brother were found abandoned on a church staircase in Chile.

But in fact, the brothers were abducted from their homes.

David was three years old, his brother one year.

The mother was imprisoned

The brothers were adopted into a couple in Halmstad, where they grew up.

- My biological mother was imprisoned and the authorities told her that my brother and I had died of tuberculosis.

In the clip, you can hear David Henningsson tell how it happened when he was stolen as a child.

43 years after the brothers were torn apart from their home of origin in Chile, David Henningsson and his biological mother could be reunited - over a video link.

- We sat silently and looked at each other.

Mom saw her dad in me.

It was very emotional, not much was said but we felt we had found each other.

David Henningsson followed during Wednesday's government press conference from his home in Höganäs.

It emerged that the purpose of the investigation is "to clarify the existence of any irregularities in Sweden's international adoption activities".

Will give lessons ahead

Furthermore, it states that the lessons should provide guidance on how adoptions are handled in the future.

- Possibly this ends up in Sweden writing about the rules for how adoptions take place today, but I doubt that any measures will be taken to find out what really happened.

He wants Sweden to start a criminal investigation of the type that is going on in Chile, where the cases of the stolen children are being investigated as crimes against humanity.

- In order to be able to hold potential perpetrators accountable, a criminal investigation is needed, says David Henningsson.
