The number of unemployed (category A) recorded a drop of 5.5% in the third quarter in France (excluding Mayotte) compared to the previous quarter, or 206,000 fewer registered, to 3.544 million, according to figures from the Ministry of Labor published this Wednesday. 

Unemployment is on the decline.

This is evidenced by the latest figures published on Wednesday.

A drop of almost 2% was in fact recorded over the last quarter and 3.6% over the year for job seekers in categories A, B and C. These three categories include those who have worked a little on the job. the past quarter.

And this drop is even more marked if we take only those who have not worked at all with 5.8% over the past quarter, and 10% over one year.

Including reduced activity (categories B and C), the number of job seekers is down 1.9% and stands at 5.871 million, according to the Directorate of Statistics (Dares).

Young people particularly concerned

Among those who benefit the most, young people under the age of 25.

For them, the drop is 8.4% over the last quarter and 14.8% over 1 year.

Looking more closely at these figures, we also observe that it is women who benefit the most with a drop of more than 15%.

On the other hand, seniors, that is to say job seekers over the age of 50, only experienced a 4.9% drop over one year.
