Örebro municipality has begun its own investigation.

It will go to the bottom of how they acted as caregivers for the 97-year-old woman who under unclear circumstances disappeared and was later reported missing by home care in early October.

The woman was later found dead and a 45-year-old man is still in custody, suspected of murder and kidnapping.

In parallel with the police investigation, the municipality itself must go to the bottom with whether they themselves have breached any of their obligations to the woman and whether a report of concern should have been made.

- I am ultimately responsible for the investigation and do not know right now what it will show, but we want to make sure and ensure that consent has been obtained correctly at all levels, says Marie-Louise Hammar, socially responsible coordinator in Örebro municipality .

Interviews next week

The report submitted to the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate states that in a check of documentation regarding the consent part in particular, there are ambiguities that need to be investigated further.

- We will conduct interviews with people in the entire chain that have existed to ensure that everything has been handled correctly.

From government officials to the execution side.

That is how far I am commenting on the matter right now, says Hammar.

After the report has been made to IVO, the municipality has two months to complete its own investigation.
