Now any individual entrepreneur can purchase methanol and sell it for further use in domestic conditions ... The turnover of methanol must be regulated, maybe even licensed and set the criteria for strict reporting, ”Kim said.

This statement was made against the background of reports of the death of dozens of people from alcohol poisoning in several regions of Russia.

So, in the Orenburg region 34 people died due to poisoning with surrogate alcohol.

Another 24 people died from methyl alcohol sold in one of the districts of Yekaterinburg.

Earlier, the head of the "Sober Russia" project, State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev proposed to toughen the responsibility for the mass death of people caused by counterfeit alcohol.
