Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom announced at the cabinet meeting this morning that he would hold the funeral of the 13th President Roh Tae-woo as the national head of state.

Kim minister "expressed deep condolences with the members of the State Council and boring for those families I offer my condolences,” he said.



The Prime Minister's Office said that Prime Minister Kim will visit the burial place this afternoon with the State Council members to pay tribute.



Article 2 of the National Head of State Act stipulates that, in the event of the death of a person eligible for the head of state, he may become the head of the nation as determined by the president after deliberation by the State Council upon the recommendation of the Minister of the Interior and Safety in consideration of the opinions of the bereaved family.



When the current and former presidents die, they are subject to burial at the National Cemetery and the National Cemetery.



Although Roh Tae-woo was granted pardon and reinstatement, controversy was pointed out that he was a person who was sentenced to a severe sentence for rebellion, etc.



Former President Kim Dae-jung, who was pardoned and reinstated after being convicted of violating the National Security Act, passed away in 2009 at the time of his death in 2009.
