The whole case can be appealed.

  It is understood that the "Three-China Case" originated from Taiwan’s "law amendment" in 2003 and the establishment of "party, government and military withdrawal from the media". During Ma Ying-jeou’s chairmanship of the Chinese Kuomintang, he successively controlled the Kuomintang’s three companies: "China Broadcasting," "China Television," and "China Film". The sale of the equity and the old party building was accused of the KMT losing 7.2 billion yuan (NTD, the same below), suspected of breach of trust, money laundering, and other crimes. In 2014, the case was closed due to "inspection of no illegality".

In 2017, a “legislator” claimed that they had obtained new evidence and requested that the investigation be restarted. The Taipei District Prosecutor’s Office was charged with special breach of trust. The case was sentenced in the first instance on the 27th.

  Regarding the acquittal of Ma Ying-jeou and others, Changjiang Junyan of the trial court stated that on the one hand, Ma Ying-jeou was the chairman of the Kuomintang at the time and did not qualify as a company director who was punishable by relevant laws; on the other hand, there is currently no evidence to prove Zhang Zhechen and Wang Haiqing Ma Ying-jeou, who was guilty of breach of trust and had no company-related identity, was unable to conspire with the two, so the three were acquitted.

  Faced with the verdict, Ma Ying-jeou expressed through his office that he was grateful for justice and returned his innocence.

  The Kuomintang also issued an article stating that Ma Ying-jeou was upright and honest, and abiding by the law during his tenure. The people are obvious to all and he can definitely stand the test.

Now that the verdict of not guilty has been issued, it can be said that Ma Ying-jeou is innocent and righteous.

  The Taipei District Prosecutor's Office said it will carefully consider whether to appeal.

  Regarding Cai Zhengyuan’s sentence, the Taipei District Court stated that Cai Zhengyuan used China Film’s equity trading opportunities to make profits to pay off mortgages and campaign for "legislators" broadcast fees.
