Lithuania: economic cooperation with Taiwan continues

After the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Taiwanese economic delegation is concluding its European tour in Lithuania.
It is precisely in Vilnius that the authorities of the island have decided to open a representation by the end of the year, angering Beijing.

The Lithuanians have great hopes in this new cooperation with the island located 8,000 kilometers from their home.
There was applause for the signing of the six memorandums between Lithuania and Taiwan.
Semiconductors, biotechnologies or even high technologies applied to finance ... These are the areas in which Vilnius and Taipei have decided to cooperate.

Lithuania stands for the same values as Taiwan,
” said Lithuanian Minister of Economy Ausrine Armonaite.
The island could be an outlet for our exports.
But we also expect investments from them, in the area of production, 20% of our GDP is generated by industry.

Virtuous cycle
A semiconductor factory, particularly necessary for the laser industry, Lithuania's flagship, would be appreciated.
For the Minister of National Development of Taiwan, Kung Ming Hsin, the presence of this delegation is the continuation of this virtuous cycle which began with the pandemic between Lithuania and Taiwan.
Lithuania has provided more than 200,000 vaccines against Covid-19.
