“Employees of the UEBiPK UMVD of Russia for the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, with the assistance of colleagues from the territorial police units, revealed the facts of illegal circulation of unmarked alcoholic beverages and tobacco products on the territory of Surgut and Nefteyugansk,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

Police officers seized more than 11 tons of counterfeit alcohol.

"More than 14 thousand bottles of strong alcohol and about 750 bottles of alcohol-containing liquid, as well as over 33,500 packs of cigarettes, have been withdrawn from the illegal circulation," the message says.

Criminal cases were initiated under Part 6 of Art.

171.1 of the Criminal Code (production, purchase, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products without marking and (or) applying information as provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation).

Earlier in St. Petersburg, the police liquidated the production of counterfeit alcohol.
