“I am categorically against the decision made by the Amsterdam court.

If we take a specific case with the Republic of Crimea, then all these treasures were historically located on the territory of the peninsula, and archaeologists have been transferring them to our Crimean museums for decades, they tell about the history of the peninsula, ”the deputy said.

According to him, the treasures are "invaluable for the entire world science, culture and history."

He also expressed concern that "if there really is a transfer of all these values" to the Ukrainian authorities, then there is a risk "of losing them altogether for the whole world."

"Therefore, the expected decision, but absolutely wrong in the world concept," - said Chernyak.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the decision of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal on the transfer of Scythian gold to the ownership of Ukraine.

According to her, this decision undermines trust between museum communities in different countries and calls into question the future prospects of inter-museum cooperation, including between Russia and the Netherlands.
