The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, discussed with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chairman of the United Nations Group for Sustainable Development, Amina Mohammed, ways to strengthen the partnership between the UAE government and the United Nations in various fields, and they reviewed a number of topics of common interest.

Mohammed Al Gergawi stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, adopts clear directions for the future based on strengthening cooperation and activating frameworks of international partnerships aimed at ensuring A better tomorrow for future generations, noting that the UAE government is committed to playing an active role in achieving global sustainable development goals.

Al Gergawi said that the UAE government believes in the pivotal role of the United Nations in leading and coordinating efforts to improve the lives of societies and advance development, and seek to provide opportunities for communities, individuals and countries to participate in the future process, stressing that sustainable development is the most important factor in achieving these goals.

Amina Mohammed praised the initiatives of the UAE, its role in supporting international efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and its effective partnership with the United Nations in various development fields, initiatives and humanitarian projects.

She praised the initiatives of the UAE government aimed at sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences, experiences and success stories with governments in the region and the world, through the government knowledge exchange program, which represents a model for fruitful partnerships aimed at the advancement of societies, and commended the role of Expo 2020 Dubai in providing a global platform for meeting minds and exchanging knowledge. and experiences aimed at creating a better future.

    The meeting dealt with enhancing prospects for cooperation between the UAE government and the United Nations in various fields, and reviewed the role of the UAE in supporting efforts to achieve the United Nations goals for the next decade, and the Sustainable Development Goals data platform launched by the UAE government in 2018, to follow up and evaluate progress levels. in implementing the sustainable development goals.   

The attendees discussed cooperation in files and projects that touch the future in the advanced technology and data sectors, and they touched on the future visions of the UAE, and what the Ten Principles of the New Fifty Document implies in the direction of creating a better future.


The meeting dealt with preparations for the United Nations Public Service Conference, which will be hosted by the UAE from December 13 to 15, within the framework of the fruitful partnership between the state and the UN.
