The audit report, carried out by the external audit firm KPMG, points out a number of shortcomings in the working environment and the management of Södra Dalarna's rescue services association.

- We have had a lot of focus on these areas and in general also a good working environment, I would like to say.

But there are areas for improvement that we must now address, says rescue chief Mats Jansson.

In the report sent to the four municipalities of Avesta, Hedemora, Norberg and Fagersta, the conclusions are drawn that: "For a long time there have been known shortcomings in the union's work environment which are largely based on employees experiencing serious shortcomings in leadership."

- Based on our employee surveys both in 2017 and 2020, there was some criticism that we took to heart.

But obviously it has not had an impact, Jansson says.

The external company KPMG assesses that the shortcomings are so serious that the municipalities now have until 21 November to answer how to take measures.
