That the interest in getting a dog daycare place increased at the same rate as the restrictions were eased, the staff at Kalmar dog daycare signs.

The phone rings more and more often and dog owners who have previously been able to work from home get in touch in the hope of getting a daycare placement for their dog.

- It is probably not directly the case that people are desperate, even though there may be some who call on Friday and want a placement for Monday, says Sofi Eliasson, who is the dog daycare manager.

Getting a placement for your dog is not that easy.

- There must be a place in the kindergarten and the dog must also be trained before there can be a question of any placement.

Right now there are 22 dogs placed in the dog daycare.

The different dogs are spread out in different rooms and are taken care of by the staff who work there.

Had the dog daycare been able to have more trainees, or more employees, they could receive more dogs.

The fact that the queue for the dog daycare is now growing, the staff believes, is due to the fact that many bought dogs during the corona pandemic.

- At the beginning of the autumn, it was really tough, says Eva Ottosson who is the dog daycare manager at Kalmar dog daycare.
