A 72-year-old man suspected of sexual assault on his niece appeared in court in Quimper (Finistère) on Monday.

The facts would have occurred nineteen years ago but the septuagenarian was not the subject of a complaint until recently.

When she was a teenager, the victim spent weekends and holidays with her aunt in Moëlan-sur-Mer, a small town in Finistère.

One day, her uncle by marriage would have found himself alone with the young girl.

He would then have subjected him to caresses and touching.

Relatives of the victim informed

The shocked teenager did not immediately denounce these actions to her aunt.

On the other hand, she was poured out in her diary, reports

Ouest-France

.

Since she was 14 and until she is 33 today, the young woman has told her assault to several relatives, without ever changing her version and always with the same details.

The septuagenarian, originally from Morbihan, denied the facts.

The psychiatric expertise of the defendant revealed that the latter was "psychorigid".

Five years of imprisonment "including a tiny part of suspended sentence" were required against him.

The judgment was reserved.

The court will render its decision on November 25.
