"The Defense Attaché at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation was invited to the Main Directorate of International Military Cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Defense," RIA Novosti is quoted as saying by the department.
It is noted that the German military attaché was handed a note after the statement by Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer on Russia's nuclear deterrence.
"Such statements provoke an increase in tension in Europe," the department stressed.
Earlier, the Bundestag criticized the statement of Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer about the possibility of using nuclear weapons against Russia.
