“We are concerned about reports that Prime Minister Hamdok has been placed under house arrest, as well as about the detention of other ministers,” Massrali was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti. 

She stressed that the EU is calling for the early release of the detained politicians.

Earlier, the publication of Al Hadath previously reported about the house arrest of the Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamduk.

It is also reported that the ministers of communications, information, finance, and industry are among the detainees.

The entrances and exits from the capital are blocked by the military.

Later it was reported that a state of emergency was introduced in Sudan and the transitional Sovereign Council and the government of the country were dissolved.
