“For the first time in years, I have decided to cancel the extension of the state of emergency,” the Egyptian leader wrote.
According to him, Egypt has become "an oasis of security and stability in the region."
The state of emergency was introduced in Egypt in April 2017 after terrorist attacks on churches in the cities of Tanta and Alexandria, which killed more than 40 people.
