With 24,600 units sold, the Tesla 3 is the best-selling car in September in Europe, ahead of the Renault Clio and the Dacia Sandero.
In an auto market that collapsed on the Old Continent last month, with sales levels back to 1995 due to Covid-19 and
semiconductor shortages
, electric is coming out the head of the water.
The SUV craze
In the third quarter, more hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric cars were sold in Europe than gasoline-powered cars, and many manufacturers are now focusing on the production of electric vehicles.
On this type of engine, it is the company
of Elon Musk
that wins the bet since Tesla represents a quarter of the electric market in September.
Its new SUV, the Model Y, was also very successful.
This is the other lesson from September sales: buyers' interest in the SUV, with a record market share of 46.5%.
For the cabinet Jato, author of the classification, the roads of Europe could soon resemble those of the United States, where more than half of new cars sold are SUVs.
