A few days after the shooting of Alec Baldwin having fatally affected a director of photography on the set of a western in the United States, calls are increasing in Hollywood to ban the use of firearms on sets.

Many actors, directors or producers, call for the use of flashes instead of a visual effect that is less expensive and easy to achieve.

In the United States, the investigation continues after the death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film

Several personalities have indeed spoken since the drama of Thursday.

"There is no reason to have loaded guns on a set. It should be banned," said Craig Zobel, director of hit series like

Mare of Easttown

, which won several awards this year.

A series in which all the shots were created by computer.

A very strict protocol

An opinion shared by several of his colleagues. On social media, they explain that flashes are the easiest and cheapest visual effect to achieve. So they just don't understand why some studios insist on using real weapons on their set. And this even if a very strict protocol does exist to regulate their use: they are under the responsibility of a professional gunsmith and above all, no real bullet must be present on a shoot.

James Cullen Bressack, who has worked with the cinematographer in the past, has said that he will never use live weapons in his films again.
