"Suhail" reveals the public transport route in Dubai in a live broadcast

The Executive Director of the Institutional Technical Support Sector at the Roads and Transport Authority, Muhammad Al-Mudharreb, revealed to "Emirates Today" that the authority has completed an important update on the smart application "Suhail S'hail", which is intended to help customers navigate within the Emirate of Dubai with ease, adding that Public bus users can now track their routes in a live broadcast that conveys to them how close they are to their location.

Al Mudharreb said that the authority has completed the project to install the Suhail application code on all public bus stop signs spread throughout the emirate, adding that there is no longer a need to download the schedules of those buses, as they can scan the code available on the board to reveal all the information related to them. The bus’s arrival time and location, according to live data, which transfers it to the street network and traffic around that bus.

Al Mudharreb added that this live data about the route of public buses was limited to the RTA control center and was not accessible to bus users. The update of the application aimed to provide more features that help road and transportation users to navigate easily.

Al-Mudharreb pointed out the many features and characteristics of Suhail, saying that it enables the user to manage his Nol account, book taxis and luxury vehicles of the Roads and Transport Authority, book taxis guided by smart applications and transport vehicles on demand, plan bus trips between cities, in addition to seeing all Information on public transportation.

He added that the "Suhail" application provides all the information about the means of transportation provided by the Roads and Transport Authority, from the Dubai metro and tram, and its taxis and buses, which makes it the best way to help residents and visitors to get around in Dubai, especially since a taxi can be booked through it from any place in Dubai.

He pointed out the role of the application in helping customers choose between traveling by taxi, metro or other means of transportation, because it provides real-time updates on traffic, and suggests the best solution for transportation that helps him organize his trips.

It is noteworthy that public buses in the Emirate of Dubai are one of the safe and high-end means of transportation to move between parts of the city.

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has developed the "Raqib" system, which relies on installing a sophisticated device in front of the bus driver that reads signs of fatigue and stress that the driver may suffer, through technical indicators that reach the control room of the authority, on the basis of which the case can be dealt with immediately.

Raqib is linked to another smart system that monitors the driver’s behavior in terms of exceeding the stipulated speed, non-compliance with safe driving, reckless use of the brakes, sudden detour and preoccupation with the road using a mobile phone while driving. The authority’s control room, based on the analysis of this data, takes immediate measures that ensure the safety of public transport bus users.
