The Iranian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai presents an interesting set of inspiring events and activities for visitors, as well as various experiences, inspired by the social life and culture of the country.

It embodies Iran's civilizational and cultural features, and focuses in particular on displaying Iranian carpets, as it allows visitors to enjoy an exceptional experience to learn about the stages of implementing this industry manually, with the help of an expert in the craft.

The organizers of the pavilion say that "visitors have a real opportunity to enjoy an exceptional experience in this field."

They affirm the existence of a relationship between the weaving of the ancient Iranian carpet threads (the carpet) and the weaving of human relations... "because both of them require a long preparation and great care and accuracy."

The Iranians are making great efforts to provide the raw materials and flowers that are used in this industry, because they are located in rugged mountainous areas that are difficult to access, and then they mix them with silk threads, giving them a natural color, which does not fade at all, but rather becomes more beautiful over the years.

What distinguishes the Iranians in the field of carpet industry is their accuracy in choosing and selecting colors, and their ability to deal with them, as well as their ingenuity in mixing flowers and raw materials with silk.

Iran produces about five million square meters of carpets annually, more than 80% of which is sold to the export market.

The Iranian carpet is divided into two main parts: the first is the tribal Iranian carpet, and it is characterized by simplicity of drawings, warmth of color, velvety wool and length of pile.

This type of carpet is heavy in weight, and the inscriptions used on it depend on plant shapes such as flowers and simple geometric shapes.

The second category is city rugs, and they are named according to the city in which they are made.

The most important of these is the city of Tabriz, which is famous for its silk carpets with inscriptions close to the geometrical shape and dark colors such as deep red and dark blue.
