October 24, 2021Elia Viviani won the gold medal in the elimination round of the Track World Championships, which ends today in Roubaix (France).

The Veronese, who had never been world champion on the track, preceded the Portuguese Iúri Leitao, silver, and the Russian Sergey Rostovtsev, bronze.



The carreer


Elia Viviani won in five stages of the Giro d'Italia, one in 2015 and four in 2018 (in addition to the cyclamen jersey of the points classification), in three stages of the Vuelta a España 2018 and in one stage in the Tour de France 2019. He then won the EuroEyes Cyclassics 2017, 2018 and 2019, the Bretagne Classic Ouest-France 2017, the Italian online title 2018 and the European online title in 2019. He won seven titles at the European championships and a gold medal, two silver and two bronze medals at the world championships.



A record balance sheet
