His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, valued the efforts of the Emirates Polio Vaccination Campaign team, which was implemented in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
His Highness said during his phone call with the campaign team, with the participation of Abdullah Khalifa Al Ghafli, director of the UAE Project to Aid Pakistan, and a number of team members, "Today, thanks to the commitment and courage of the Emirates Polio Campaign team and health workers on the front lines, we are closer than ever to reaching A world free of polio.
On the World Polio Day, which falls on October 24 of each year, His Highness saluted the campaign team and the children who benefited from vaccination worldwide, stressing that they all give us hope for a future free of polio.
The UAE polio vaccination campaign, which was carried out in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan during the period from 2014 to the end of September 2021, succeeded in giving 583 million and 240,876 doses of vaccination against polio within 8 years to more than 102 million Pakistani children.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the great success achieved by the UAE campaign for polio vaccination is the result of the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him” and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and keen follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
His Highness pointed out that the team's efforts during the implementation of the Emirates polio vaccination campaign call for pride and embody the UAE's humanitarian approach and its keenness to support brotherly and friendly countries and support global efforts to eradicate polio from the world.
His Highness added that the work team of the Emirates Polio Vaccination Campaign presented an epic of global humanitarian giving and inspiring success stories in facing challenges, especially with its keenness throughout the past period and despite the challenges imposed by the emerging Corona Virus pandemic (Covid-19), to continue implementing the campaign in all Pakistani provinces.
His Highness praised the organized work and high professionalism in implementing the Emirates polio vaccination campaign, with the campaign reaching 84 difficult areas in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, stressing that this matter reflects the dedication, sincerity, will and high determination of the team and the keenness of its members to achieve its goals in the fullest manner despite any challenges.
