This is the first national election for the Kishida Cabinet, and the by-elections of the Shizuoka and Yamaguchi constituencies of the House of Councilors, which are the outposts of the House of Representatives election, are being voted.


The voter turnout of the Shizuoka constituency, which was a fierce election campaign between the ruling and opposition parties, was 9.91% as of 11:00 am, which is 1.7 points lower than the previous House of Councilors election.

Voting is taking place in the by-elections of the Shizuoka and Yamaguchi constituencies of the House of Councilors, both of which are in dispute over the seats held by the LDP.



According to the Election Commission, the Shizuoka constituency has a turnout of 9.91% as of 11:00 am, 1.7 points lower than the previous House of Councilors election.



In the Yamaguchi constituency, the estimated turnout as of 10:00 am is 5.91%, which is 0.25 points lower than that of adults.



This number does not include those who voted early by the 23rd.



These two by-elections were the first national elections for the Kishida Cabinet, and both the ruling and opposition parties held a fierce election campaign, positioning it as a prelude to the House of Representatives election, which was about to be counted on the 31st of this month.



All votes will be closed at 8 pm on the 24th and will be counted the same day.
